    Review pathology reports

    TUMOR NOMENCLATURE AND ABSTRACTING

    ICD-O-3 coding

    AJCC TNM staging and other relevant stage at diagnosis

    Leverage CNExT for generating reports for hospital committees and Tumor Board

    SEER DATA SUBMISSION

    Prepare and submit quarterly/annual reports to SEER in compliance with Federal Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) program guidelines

    Ensure SEER-approved software is used for submissions and that all necessary updates are applied to the software

    Monitor submission timelines and review SEER feedback for data quality improvement

    SEER-specific training or updates to stay compliant with federal guidelines

    DATA QUALITY ASSURANCE

    Perform routine quality assurance

    Cross-check CNExT and other registry data

    Participate in state and national audit programs

    Use SEER*Stat for statistical analysis of registry data

    Performed with/as Oncology Data Specialist to maintain the accuracy and reliability of the database

    TUMOR BOARD PREPARATION

    Prepare case summaries for Tumor Board presentation, ensuring all essential information (diagnosis, treatment plans, staging) is up-to-date

    Record recommendations and decisions made during tumor board meetings in CNExT

    Ensure follow-up on actions decided by the tumor board, such as changes in treatment plans or further diagnostic workup

    FOLLOW-UP AND PATIENT OUTCOME TRACKING

    Maintain regular patient follow-up schedules

    Capture recurrences, metastasis, and any secondary malignancies

    Use CNExT to track patient status (alive, deceased, lost to follow-up) and ensure timely updates in the registry

    Work with oncology nurses, physicians, and other departments to track patient outcomes

    REGULATORY COMPLIANCE AND REPORTING

    Participate in NAACCR (North American Association of Central Cancer Registries) and CoC (Commission on Cancer) compliance activities

    Submit reports to state cancer registries as per state-specific deadlines and regulations

    Prepare accreditation documentation for hospitals or facilities seeking CoC accreditation

    Track and report on cancer care quality metrics, including survival rates and treatment adherence

    PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

    Complete continuing education (CE) requirements to maintain CTR certification

    Attend conferences, webinars, and workshops related to SEER updates, tumor registry management, and oncology data collection

    Stay informed about changes in tumor nomenclature, staging systems, and cancer treatments

    COLLABORATION WITH ONCOLOGY DATA SPECIALISTS

    Collaborate closely with Oncology Data Specialists to ensure the smooth flow of data and accurate reporting

    Participate in team meetings to discuss data trends, case complexities, or updates in oncology care

    Assist Oncology Data Specialists with data queries or clarification on specific cancer cases
